Together we can!

The UAW has been extremely supportive of our efforts at Elevation Youth Corp. We launched our first community event at UAW Local 892 in 2019 with a free youth Halloween party! It was a huge success with the help of their womans committee who donated over 100 candy goody bags! The staff hospitality was great especially from their UAW Local 892 President, Larry Robinson! It was like coming home when we were welcomed to host our first Summer Program Banquet in 2022! Again, we were heavily supported by their new UAW Local 892 President, Latioa Robinson. We continued to gain support with the UAW Local 3000 and President Steve Gonzales, who invites us to host our annual carwash fundraiser every year since 2020. We were also given the opportunity to join UAW Local 900 and C.B.T.U. with their grocery giveaway in 2021. It was a great experience helping out with all the volunteers, including the C.B.T.U. Region 7 Director, Dana Harris and UAW Local 900 President, Dwayne Walker. UAW Members came together again in 2022 at the Black men In Union conference held at U of M - Dearborn. Our Executive Director, Yolanda Ragland was given a platform to speak to attendees about our organization. We were also presented with a very helpful donation towards our summer programs. We look forward to teaming with UAW local 1284 at our 2022 Youth Winter Coat Drive! They have committed to supply us with Thanksgiving turkeys to pass out with our pick up  orders! We are truly grateful to the UAW and Region 1-A Director Laura Dickerson who has welcomed our youth education and community efforts with open arms! 

Elevation Youth Corp Youth members got their first hands on experience with giving back by helping serve our community with the SOS food pantry. We are very grateful for the staff helping our team learn the necessary skills needed to succeed in this community effort.
